The next release of the day after TITLI and GUDDU KI GUN is Randeep Hooda starrer MAIN AUR CHARLES, which is not exactly a biopic on the ill-famous “bikini killer” Charles Sobhraj, but a bigger than life version of his adventures. The location of the movie takes us back to the ’80s and how Sobhraj conned tourists with his unusual spark of conducting himself. The writer-director Prawaal Raman’s detailing of nuances looks intricately woven and hence, very promising.
With a good mix of deception, and masculinity, MAIN AUR CHARLES does make for an out of the ordinary watch for it is attention grabbing scheme for audiences. Charles Sobhraj is well thought-out to be one of the most urbane conmen in modern history and ‘Highway’ star Randeep has captured the nuances of his character flawlessly.
Also starring Richa Chadha, Saurabh Sarkar, Satyaendra Gupta, Sandeep Punia, Lucky Morani, Vipin Sharma, Dijana Dejanovic, Mandana Karimi, Alex O’Neil, Shanti Mei and Anastasia, the movie has been promoted affably and like TITLI looks to blossom on a good declaration of mouth. Director Prawaal Raman’s story bound does take on international criminal Charles Sobhraj has far now managed to clutch enough eyeballs preceding to its release courtesy the trimly cut trailer that has enough intimacy and drama to keep the audience glued.
