Virender Sehwag officially announced his retirement from International cricket via Twitter. Sehwag tweeted that “I hereby retire from all forms of international cricket and from the Indian Premier League. A statement will follow.”
Sehwag also known as Viru is currently playing first class cricket for Haryana . The tremendous career of Sehwag ends now .Viru has scored 8586 runs in test cricket and 8273 runs in ODI career.
Sehwag is the only Indian batsman to score 2 triple centuries in test cricket. He also holds the record of second highest individual score in One Day International cricket.
“God has been kind and I have done what I wanted to do – on the field and in my life and I had decided sometime back that I will retire on my 37th birthday. So, while I spend the day with my family, I hereby announce my retirement from all forms of international cricket and the Indian Premier League.” Sehwag said in a statement release to media.
Sehwag is known for his blasting shots as a batsman and has got a strike rate above 90 in ODI. He was part of India’s T20 and ODI World Cup team.
