As per Mango Man Consumer Electronics Pvt. Ltd, a company based in Bengaluru that created Teewe, plans of adding torrent streaming functionality was disclosed to the wireless media streaming HDMI dongle.
With this update, the mission of the startup to enable the users for playing anywhere and anything on the television is fit. The update would roll out by October end or by November 1st week says CEO and Co-Founder of Teewe.in, Sai Srinivas.
He also added that they don’t want to aid piracy like Popcorn Time or others and they don’t show movies. However, one has a torrent, it can be dragged or dropped on to the desktop application and it would stream directly to the television. This feature has been possible on Google Chromecast through applications, owing to which the need of managing torrent files is eliminated.
Teewe platform views the same kind of platform support just like Google Gadget, as they consider there is already an active community which builds 3rd party applications on Chromecast. As of now, the team of Teewe is building on features on their own.
There is another upcoming update for the month of January through which the dongle would be enabled for running mobile games. Srinivas also states that the fun is that the game runs on Teewe device and controls are pushed by SDK to the phone.
The dongle of Teewe works with desktop as well as mobile apps on Windows, Linux, Android and iOS. It also pairs with plugin of Google Chrome through which videos can be streamed by users from browser to TV. There is another upcoming feature through which content can be watched by users from video streaming website such as Hotstar.
On the phone, the new app named Teewe Couch would provide functionality like Newshunt for web video.
