While most of the OEM partners of Google are yet to release, their handsets would be built by Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Some of the users of Android One Smartphone have reported about the receipt of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OTA update, which is the 1st update to the latest Operating System of the latest mobile of the company.
XDA Developer forum has a thread which is inclusive of comments from many users and the rolling out of this update is being seen to the 2nd generation handsets of Android One including the General Mobile 4G and Cherry Mobile One. Unfortunately, no announcement has been made by Google about this Marshmallow update.
Screenshots have been shared by a developer named LlabTooFer from an Android One Phone that shows that the handset is running Android 6.0.1 update having a build number MMB29K. During the time of writing, nothing has been mentioned about the improvements or fixes that have been brought about by the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update. However, the screenshots show that the listing of the security patch level as 1st of December, tipping that the update might be released by Google to wider audience on the day. In 1 of the screenshots that Android Police posted, the update notification displays the size of 87.5MB. Earlier this month, Google kept its promise of Android security updates on a monthly basis and the November update that starts rolling out in November has its main focus on fixing the issues in OS to the Nexus devices.
As per the recent Android version distribution numbers of Google, there has been a rise of share of active devices that run Android 6.0 Marshmallow by 0.3 percent.
