Wondering how the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update would be reaching your Honor handset? If your handset is among the 5 that are named, then they will surely be getting it by next year. An announcement has been made by Honor India that Android 6.0 Marshmallow software version would be rolling out in the country to various handsets starting from February 2016.
Honor India noted that this update would be received by users of Honor 4X, Honor 6, Honor 7, Honor 6 Plus and Honor 4C depending on the version of software. Considering the time taken by smartphone manufacturers for rolling out new Android software to the handsets, the current rollout timeline of Honor India is very impressive. However, people who would expect it soon would surely be very disappointed.
Recently, an announcement was made by Huawei, the parent company that this update would be received by many handsets including Ascend G8, Ascend G7 Plus, Ascend G7, Mate 7, Mate S, Ascend P8Max and Ascend P8 in China from the month of November.
Separately, there was a report that cited that the company has plans of beta testing Android 6.0 on at least 1 of the device before the stable version was released. A beta test version would soon be seen in few weeks. It would be interesting to see the take of the company on Emotion UI, its user interface for Android handsets. A request has been made by any users for toning down on the apps and customization that is seen in its tablets and smartphones.
A high-end handset would soon be launched by the company, probably the Huawei Mate 8 by this month. The launch of Mate 8 for 26th of November is already being teased by the company.
