On Wednesday, many updates were announced by Google for the Google Drive storage service on Web, iOS and Android. While, the roll out of some features has already been seen, the arrival of some would be seen in upcoming weeks.
With this update, files can be searched all across regardless of which device they use. Not, the search of file is narrowed down to file type from search bar. Advanced search options can also be accessed by the users from the search bar.
Several behind the scene-improvements have also been made by this search giant, having an aim of delivering better results of search query as compared to before. More specific results would be found if files are searched on the basis of email address or the file owner. With advance search options, files can eb searched by words that are included, the date of modification as well as the person who has shared it.
Last month the Drive was updated by Google for supporting 3D touch as well as support for multitasking features. With this update, the app version is brought to 4.4 and with this, photos can be quickly uploaded by the users. A search can be made for the content that is stored or when pressed hard on the icon of the app. The app also has an ability of receiving push notifications whenever a new file has been received by a user. In addition, the Drive works quite well with Spotlight, which means Drive files can be looked into from the homescreen directly.
With the updated Google Drive app for iOS, support for Slide Over and Split View multitasking features are offered too. With these features, the app can be opened up in 1 part of the screen, right next to another app and data can be dragged and dropped from other applications.
