Xiaomi has given confirmation that its Mi 4 flagship smartphone along with Mi Note would be the 1st smartphone in the lineup that would be receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. The MIUI Operations Manager of the company gave a confirmation in Weibo post.
Both Mi Note as well as Xiaomi Mi4 would be running the MIUI 7 version based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, as per an executive of the company, who added that roll out of 1st close beta would be seen soon.
If you don’t remember, Xiaomi Mi 4 was launched in the year 2014 and ran on Android 4.4 KitKat. On the other hand, Mi Note was seen this year and ran on KitKat version. Notably, the Android Lollipop based MIUI 7 ROMs were launched by the company for its handsets this year in the month of October.
The launch of the much anticipated Mi 5 flagship smartphone is being delayed by the company for months now. However, Lei Jun, the CEO makes claims that the handset is definitely worth the wait and is very good. Windows 10 Mobile ROM was released by Xiaomi in partnership with Microsoft for the Mi 4 Android smartphone.
Last month, the Redmi Note 3 was unveiled by Xiaomi. The company gave confirmation that the availability of Redmi Note 3 would be seen in 2 variants, one with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB of Storage, with price of Rs. 11,500 and another with 2 GB and storage of 16 GB at a price of Rs.9,500. Nothing has been mentioned about the launch date of price in India. It features a 5.5 inch full HD Sunlight Display and is laminated.
